TripTale Privacy Policy

Who This Applies To

This Privacy Policy applies to TripTale: Travel Memories, operated by TripTale. TripTale is a private travel journal app that lets users create trips, record voice memories, attach media, invite viewers, share trips with a private Circle, and order printed keepsake books. Voice memories are transcribed into text — TripTale never rewrites your words.

Information We Collect

• Account information, such as your email address and profile details you provide.
• Trip and memory content, such as trip titles, destinations, dates, voice recordings, transcripts, captions, locations you enter, photos, and videos.
• Invite information, such as the email address of someone invited to view a trip.
• Purchase information, such as your subscription status and purchase history, processed through Apple and our subscription provider. TripTale never receives your full card number.
• Order information for physical keepsake books, such as the shipping address and order details needed to print and deliver your book.
• Technical information needed to operate the service, such as authentication events, storage activity, logs, analytics and diagnostic events, and security records.

How We Use Information

• To create and secure your TripTale account.
• To store and display your trips, memories, audio, photos, and videos.
• To transcribe recordings into text and suggest optional titles and captions.
• To send invite emails and let invited viewers access a shared trip.
• To provide support, troubleshoot errors, prevent abuse, and improve the product.

AI Processing

When you record a memory, TripTale sends the audio to our AI provider (OpenAI) for transcription only — to turn your speech into text. Your words are kept verbatim and are never rewritten. TripTale may also suggest an optional title or caption, which you can edit or discard. Audio and transcripts are not used to train AI models.

Sharing

TripTale does not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to operate the app, with the following service providers:

• Supabase — database, authentication, and file storage for your account and content.
• OpenAI — speech-to-text transcription of your voice memories (transcription only; not used for training).
• RevenueCat and Apple — subscription management and purchase processing.
• Stripe — secure payment processing for physical keepsake-book orders.
• Peecho — print-on-demand fulfilment; receives your book content and shipping address to print and deliver your keepsake book.
• Resend — delivery of transactional emails, such as trip invitations and sign-in codes.
• PostHog (product analytics) and Sentry (error diagnostics) — to understand usage and fix problems. We do not use this data to track you across other apps, and we do not collect advertising identifiers.

If you invite someone to a trip, that viewer can see the trip timeline and memories you have shared with them.

Payments and Purchases

TripTale Premium is an auto-renewable subscription sold through the App Store; Apple processes the payment and TripTale receives only your subscription status (via RevenueCat). Keepsake books are physical products paid through Stripe; we never receive or store your full card number. To print and ship a book, the shipping address and order details you provide are sent to our print partner, Peecho.

Retention and Deletion

We keep account and trip data while your account is active or as needed to provide TripTale. You can request deletion of your account and associated data from the app or through our public account deletion page.

Some limited records may be retained when required for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, dispute resolution, or backups. Backup and log copies are removed on their normal rotation schedule.

Security

We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls, and private-by-default trip access. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

Children

TripTale is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to TripTale, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
